My Interests for the DS Site
There are a couple of areas that I could help develop on the DS website. One is in international studies. Dr. Robin mentioned at our last class meeting that some of his collaborators in Spain inquired about a DS that gave information and examples of the different regional American accents. I think this could be a fun and interesting digital story to create. Another area in which I could help develop is in medical/healthcare. I've worked with many Alzheimer's paitients and their families, and thought how great it would be for them to have a way to tell their stories and also view other's struggles with the disease.

ReplyDeleteI like both ideas but as the semester progresses and we see what other students suggest for their projects, let's see if it makes sense for you to pick just one or perhaps work on both. :-)
I like the idea of having families and patients affected by Alzheimer's to share their stories. Would be very emotionally charge viewing and helpful for the family to create something like that as an outlet for their emotions, to get their story heard and as a memory of the life of the one affected that they love. It would also serve those who may just have received the diagnosis to know how others have dealt with it.
